Using local wetlands workshop - a call for local community organisations / workers

Starting Point are currently working with Community Organisers Ltd & Cheshire Wildlife Trust to explore how communities can use local wetlands more than they currently do.

They are looking for local community / education groups / organisations, community workers, leaders and decision makers and volunteers based in Stockport, Macclesfield, Partington and Wythenshawe to join them in an informative workshop to explore how, together, we can use our wetlands more, overcome barriers and embrace the health and wellbeing benefits from nature.

They are holding two events next month one online and one face to face to come together, learn from one another and shape future work.

Tuesday 11 July, 9.30am – 1pm face to face event at The Community Rooms, Cornerstone, Stockport Town Centre

Wednesday 12 July, 9.30am – 1pm online event via Teams

They are running a fun competition throughout the workshops asking people to get out and about beforehand, take a picture of some local wetland and share it with them to show in the breaks. Everyone who submits one or more photos will be entered into a draw to win a £50 shopping voucher of your choice.

If you would like more information or a chat about this work, please contact nicola@startpoint.org.uk to arrange a suitable time.
