Flood Evacuation Training

  • GMFRS Training and Safety Centre Hinds Lane Bury, England, BL8 2GN United Kingdom (map)

The day will include a tour of the fantastic facilities at the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service Training and Safety Centre in Bury.

The exercise will provide a great opportunity to engage with emergency services and the local authority, exploring: activation, roles and responsibilities, capabilities and opportunities to work collaboratively. The exercise will be a combination of multi-agency tabletop discussion and live play.

The exercise is open to all VCFSE response partners and Community Emergency Response Volunteers or anyone that has an interest about learning more about the role of the voluntary sector in response to flooding across Greater Manchester.

The live play element of the exercise will be focussed on deploying volunteers to door knock and feed information in to multi agency partners. There will be opportunities for tabletop discussions at tactical coordination level. No previous training is required to take part in this exercise, just willingness to contribute to the day.
