Rob Macmillan, a Principal Research Fellow at CRESR, the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University, will explore the current context of relationships between the voluntary sector and a government in waiting, in the light of historical parallels and recent developments. Drawing from interviews with key stakeholders involved in policy discussion, the lecture will argue that the voluntary sector has become relatively marginalised in policy thinking and will seek to explain how and why this has come about.
