Sector 3 launches Live Well Fund in Stockport with NHS GM & GMCA

Applications Open for the Live Well Fund:
Empowering Stockport’s Communities to Tackle Health Inequalities

Applications are now open for the Live Well Fund, an initiative designed to support the health and well-being of Stockport’s growing and diverse population. This grant, funded by NHS Greater Manchester (GM) and Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and managed by Sector 3, aims to empower local communities by addressing health inequalities and fostering innovation.

In its first year, this seed fund invites voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations in Stockport to apply for grants of up to £5,000 for projects or services running over a 12-month period.

The Live Well Fund is open to organisations that are based in the borough of Stockport or deliver projects that directly benefit its residents. Eligible applicants include VCFSE organisations, such as small community groups, charities, social enterprises, and grassroots initiatives.

This grant will fund projects addressing entrenched health inequalities affecting global majority communities, socially isolated individuals, and children and young people, with priority to groups and projects working in areas of deprivation within Stockport.

The Live Well Fund is an ongoing movement, with the intention of supporting organisations to build on what they do now, to further stretch their learning and practice in ways that make it easier for marginalised communities to tackle health inequalities.

Successful applicants will be notified by February 28, 2025, with funds distributed in late April 2025. Recipients may be required to provide additional reporting to ensure the fund’s objectives are met.

The Live Well Fund will support local, not-for-profit organisations, including registered charities, social enterprises, and community groups operating in Stockport. The fund is also designed to support early-stage projects or existing services ready to expand their reach and impact. Proposals should include well-defined and achievable goals for improving health outcomes.
