ASDA Foundation Grants

A variety of funds available including their regular Green Token Giving fund.

Green Token Giving supports small, local, grassroots organisations making a positive impact in their local community. Each year, Asda customers have the chance to nominate and vote for their favourite local good cause via the Green Token Giving programme. Each superstore will feature three community projects online that have been nominated by customers and colleagues. They will all be local, grassroots organisations having a positive impact on their local community. The group with the most online votes will receive a £500 donation with second receiving £400 and third place receiving £300.

Grand Plan Fund

Grants to Help People of Colour Develop & Deliver Creative & Cultural Projects.

Grants of £1,000 are available to support people of colour in the UK to develop and deliver a wide range of creative and cultural projects. The funding is made available by the Grand Plan, which awards ten grants every two months to support projects for which £1,000 would make a huge difference, ranging from poetry, paintings, fashion, zines, music, food, flowers, and photographs to workshops or events. It can be used to cover costs such as equipment, courses, time, materials or travel – anything needed to create and deliver a new cultural project.

Safer Streets Fund

The Safer Streets Fund allows forces, local authorities and community organisations to invest in transformative crime prevention initiatives.The money will go towards the prevention of violence against women and girls in public, neighbourhood crime and anti-social behaviour. These projects will be able to roll out extra CCTV and streetlighting in their communities and expand work to change attitudes and behaviours and prevent these crimes happening in the first place.

Applications are on a rolling basis.

Active Travel Grant

UK charities and not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding from the national disability transport charity, Motability, to develop, expand and improve active travel options for disabled people. Grants of between £100,000 and £4 million are available over three years to help charities and organisations, including universities, to ensure disabled people have equal opportunity to make decisions about how they travel in the UK by providing access to quality and affordable active travel equipment and journeys – whether by walking, cycling, push scooters, or use of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Barrow Cadbury Trust’s Migration Programme

Funding for grassroots groups supporting refugees, asylum seekers and marginalised migrants. Funds grassroots groups which aim to counter xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia. The fund is available for work to support and empower refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented migrants and other marginalised migrants, and ensure they are involved in public debate on migration.

BA Better World Community Fund

Match funding (50%) of up to £50,000 to help organisations who are supporting social mobility, driving opportunity for education and employability in disadvantaged communities and supporting individuals from ethnic minorities as well as providing opportunities for girls in STEM. Funding will also target organisations who support and provide Health and Wellbeing services to those in need. There will also be funding available to support projects who help their local community become more sustainable by providing innovative ideas to prevent or reduce the impacts of climate change.

Community Football Fund - Barclays

Grants of £500 are available for groups wishing to start offering football, those keen to expand their existing provision to new audiences or those already delivering football to under-represented young people. Alongside the grants, the programme will be offering training and support resources to groups to help reduce inequalities in the participation of football.

The programme will focus on including girls and young people from lower socio-economic and under-represented groups: including racially diverse communities, people with disabilities, and people from the LGBTQ+ community.

Community Shares Booster Fund

The Booster fund helps all types of community businesses to prepare a community share offer, to support their recovery from COVID-19.

Development grants – up to £5,000 to prepare a community share offer: financial planning, governance support, marketing costs and being awarded the Community Shares Standard Mark.

Match equity investment – typically matching pound for pound up to £25,000 invested by the Booster Programme, providing that the minimum share offer target is achieved.

  • The Core Costs Funding Stream is for charities and not-for-profit organisations. Applicants to this programme can apply for grants for up to three years. They aim to give quicker decisions for grants of £15,000 or less per year.

  • Funding for specific projects and activities children and young people aged 18 or under. Priority to smaller, local organisations and rarely fund organisations with income above £1 million. For UK wide Hospices and Housing Associations there is no maximum income limit. They will only consider applications for over £15,000 pa, if you are a registered non profit.
