Ann Rylands Small Donation Programme

Charities supporting sick and disadvantaged people across the UK can apply for grants of up to £2,500. Funding supports projects of a humanitarian nature or supplement core funding, with priority given to organisations supporting the elderly, people with disabilities or living with serious illness, or those facing challenges with mental health, social exclusion, homelessness or other difficulties in their lives.

Two grant options are available small grants of up to £100,000 and major grants of £100,000 or more. The types of grant made fall into one of three categories – Capital, Revenue (often called ‘core costs’) and Project work. The most important thing is that you apply for what you need.

Barchester’s Charitable Foundation

Grants of £500 - £5,000 for small charities or groups that support older people 65+, adults with a physical or learning disability or mental health problems. They favour applications that help improve people’s mobility, independence and quality of life. Their funding focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community.

The Yapp Charitable Trust

Offer grants for core funding to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40k who are undertaking work that focuses on one of the following:

• Elderly people
• Children and young people aged 5 - 25
• People with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges
• Social welfare
• Education and learning

Grants of up to £3,000 per year for three years are available.

Trustees meet 3 times per year to consider applications and a decision time can take up to 5 months from the date of submission.

Two grants available: Large grants for £2000+ to fund furniture and equipment and Small Grants up to £750. Only registered charities in the U.K. whose primary objectives are to assist one or more of the following groups: Disadvantaged/underprivileged young people (under 25), People with disabilities (physical or learning disabilities) or mental health problems, Older people (aged 60+).
